So the president treated me to steak at Ribera again this evening and I noticed they have a sign that says essentially, "If you can eat three one-pound steaks (and the rice that comes with them) in 30 minutes, the food's on the house and you get a 10000 yen prize (~$120)." Admiring the pictures of all the pro-wrestlers (Hulk Hogan among them) who had graced the tiny steak house, it suddenly occurred to me that world champion eater Takeru Kobayashi might have tried the challenge, so I decided to inquire.
"Hey, you know Kobayashi?" I asked the president, wondering if Kobayashi is as famous in Japan as he is abroad.
"Yeah, I just emailed him the other day." Sensing a linguistic glitch, I sought confirmation.
"Wait, you *know* him? I meant, 'Do you know of him?' You really know him?" I asked, my eyes growing big.
"Haha your eyes are so big. Yeah, a friend introduced him a while ago. He might write a magazine for us so I've been emailing with him. You want me to cc you?"
".......yes?!"
Kobayashi!

love!
I thought you were going to write that you accepted the three-steak challenge. Glad you didn't!
Awesome! He dips his hot dog buns in water.
I. Also thought you were gunning for the steaks.
